Bedwas pupil travels to Westminster

Houses of Parliament

On Thursday 12 March, Molly Turecek, a Year 13 pupil at Bedwas High School will visit the House of Commons at the invitation of Caerphilly MP Wayne David.

Last Sunday was International Women’s Day and Wayne David has invited Molly to visit Westminster so that she can increase her knowledge of the democratic process. Molly has been selected by Bedwas High School and follows in the footsteps of a female pupil from Lewis Girls School who visited Westminster last year.

Wayne David said, “I am delighted that Molly is able to come up to Westminster on Thursday. She will have an opportunity to see at first-hand how Parliament functions and to see some of the work that I do as the MP for Caerphilly.

“I am keen that more women become active in politics and who knows, Molly might be interested in standing for election to Parliament herself at some time in the future”.
