Member of Parliament for Caerphilly

Caerphilly Miners Centre for the Community - 20 January 2014

Bag packing success.

Wayne David, MP for Caerphilly, has joined with fellow members of the Caerphilly Miners Centre for the Community in a fundraising bag pack.

Wayne David, who is Chair of the Caerphilly Miners Centre for the Community, helped raise over £550 at the Asda store in Caerphilly.  Jeff Cuthbert AM also joined about 20 other volunteers.  The money raised is to help renovate the old Miners’ Hospital into a community facility.

Recently, the project received a grant from the Big Lottery and the group is now two thirds of the way towards raising the £1 million target.

The next fundraising event is a coffee morning on Saturday 15 February at the Twyn Community Centre.  For further information, please contact Katherine Hughes, the Secretary of the Caerphilly Miners Centre for the Community, on (029) 20886569.
