Wayne David

Member of Parliament for Caerphilly

Vote for Alice to be Westminster Dog of the Year

Westminster Dog of the Year

Wayne David, MP for Caerphilly, has entered his dog, Alice, to be the 2017 Westminster Dog of the Year.

Alice is a 6 year old Cavachon and is frequently to be seen in the Bedwas and Caerphilly area where Mr David and his wife regularly take her for a walk.

Wayne David is urging his constituents to vote for Alice on the Westminster Dog of the Year section on The Kennel Club's website by clicking here.

The MP for Caerphilly said “Alice is a lovely, friendly dog, but there is a serious reason behind the competition. Its purpose is to give a higher profile to animal welfare issues generally and dog related issues in particular.  For example, I would like to see firmer controls on puppy farms and bigger fines for individuals convicted of organising dog fighting.  I also fully support the need for proper dog training and dog socialisation”.

The winners of the online competition as well as the overall judges’ choice for Westminster Dog of the Year will be announced on Thursday 26 October.
