Wayne David

Member of Parliament for Caerphilly

Gwent Police and Crime Commissioner - 28 August 2013

Gwent PCC needs to “move on”.

Wayne David, Labour MP for Caerphilly, has responded to recent comments by Gwent Police and Crime Commissioner Ian Johnston. Mr Johnston has alleged that the Home Affairs Select Committee has unfairly made him look like a “villain”.

Wayne David has said that the evidence session in the Commons, which he attended, was “perfectly fair” and its conclusions were achieved in an entirely “objective way”.

Mr David added, “I know the Gwent PCC doesn’t like the conclusions which the Select Committee reached, but he really must move on, build bridges and work with others to restore the reputation of Gwent Police. Policing in Gwent is more important than any one individual”.
