Wayne David to give pay increase to Cancer Research UK

House of Commons

Wayne David, Labour MP for Caerphilly, has again vowed that he will give the increase in MPs pay that he will receive to charity.

The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority has given MPs a backdated 10% pay increase.

Wayne David said, "It is disappointing that David Cameron has not kept his word.  He promised to stop this unjustifiable pay increase for MPs.  He hasn’t.  I will therefore give my pay increase to Cancer Research UK.

"At a time when many of my constituents are getting little or no pay increases, it is morally wrong for MPs to be awarded a 10% pay increase".
