Wayne gets to grips with rolling pin at Peter’s Foods - 24 August 2012

Wayne David, Labour MP for Caerphilly, has visited Peter’s Food Service Ltd in Bedwas, Caerphilly.  Employing nearly 600 people at its Bedwas site, Peter’s Foods is the largest private sector employer in Mr David’s constituency.

Mr David was given a briefing from the management team at Peter’s and given a conducted tour of the manufacturing facility.  Wayne David met a number of his constituents who work at Peter’s and left with a comprehensive knowledge of the company’s production processes and the issues that the company is facing.

After the visit, Mr David said, "I was enormously impressed by Peter’s Foods.  The company is an important employer in my constituency and is clearly investing in the future.  I was particularly impressed by the fact that the company is taking on apprentices and is planning for the future.  These are difficult economic times but Peter’s Foods is well-placed to take forward what is already a success story."

In the picture above Wayne is helping out on the production line and getting instruction from Shane Jones, Bakery Team Leader.
