Wayne David

Member of Parliament for Caerphilly

Police and Crime Commissioner elections - 23 October 2012

Wayne David calls on Plaid to follow Elis-Thomas'"good example" and back Labour.

Following Dafydd Elis-Thomas’ statement that he will be supporting Tal Michael for Police and Crime Commissioner for North Wales, Wayne David has called for Plaid Cymru in Gwent to give their support to the Labour candidate Hamish Sandison.

Wayne David, Labour MP for Caerphilly, said “As Plaid Cymru have decided not to field candidates in the PCC elections, if they are a left of centre Party it makes sense for them to support the Labour candidates. This is what Dafydd Elis-Thomas is doing in North Wales and I now hope that Plaid Cymru members in Gwent will follow his good example and support Hamish Sandison, the Labour candidate.
