Wayne David MP says “Shop locally to celebrate Small Business Saturday in the Caerphilly Borough”.
Wayne David, MP for Caerphilly, has celebrated the contribution of small businesses and shops in the Caerphilly Borough, ahead of the first-ever Small Business Saturday, which is due to take place this Saturday (7 December).
Small Business Saturday is a grassroots campaign that encourages people to shop locally and support small businesses in the local community. It is set to be the biggest celebration of small businesses in the UK.
Wayne David is encouraging small businesses and shops throughout the Caerphilly Borough to take part in Small Business Saturday, as well as encouraging people to use local shops on the day and in the future.
Wayne David said, “I am delighted that Small Business Saturday is taking place this Saturday, on what is a key shopping day in the run-up to Christmas. People value the choice they get from smaller shops which is why I am pleased to celebrate the contribution they make to our local communities.
“Small Business Saturday will shine a spotlight on the huge contribution small businesses make and encourage people to buy from small local firms and independent shops, not just on Saturday but also in the future. I hope that as many people as possible in the Caerphilly Borough will shop locally on one of busiest shopping days of the year, giving a welcome boost to their local high street.”
Small Business Saturday is a grassroots coalition that was started by Shadow Business Secretary Chuka Umunna and now includes business organisations and local authorities. You can find out more information about it by visiting their Facebook page: www.facebook.com/SmallBusinessSaturdayUK
