Community rallies for Ty-Hafan.
Residents of Penybryn, near Gelligaer in the Rhymney Valley, will be organising a fun day to raise funds for Ty-Hafan, the children’s hospice.
Ty-Hafan provides comfort, care and support to life-limited children, young people and their families. It helps such people make the most of the time they have left together. Ty-Hafan is based in the Vale of Glamorgan.
After a local school girl who visited Ty-Hafan passed away, local people decided to hold a fundraising day in her memory.
The fun day has been organised by Tracy James and Aimee Rowlands and will be held in and around the Penybryn Community Centre. All the proceeds will be given to Ty-Hafan to support their work with life-limited children and their families.
Wayne David MP, who will be attending the event, said, "It is wonderful that local people have taken this initiative. I very much hope that local people will turn out in large numbers, enjoy themselves and raise as much money as possible for a fantastic charity. It shows that community spirit is alive and kicking".
