More than 50 people packed into the Village Hall at Machen for afternoon tea to raise money for the charity Breast Cancer Care.

Supporting and attending the event was local MP Wayne David who said, “It was wonderful to meet so many people who turned up to what was an enjoyable event, which raised in the region of £650 for this brilliant cause.

“It was a fantastic atmosphere and a tribute to the organiser Val Davies and all the other volunteers who helped out.  I look forward to supporting the group in what I am sure will be future successful events.”

The event was also attended by Jill Winslade, Chair of Bedwas, Trethomas and Machen Community Council, along with other local members of the Community and Borough Councils.
