Wayne David speaking in the aviation debate

Wayne David, Labour MP for Caerphilly, has spoken in the House of Commons in its debate on aviation. He called on the UK Government to extend its furlough scheme in the aviation sector.

As things stand, 369 people are set to lose their jobs at General Electric Nantgarw at the end of October.

Wayne David said, “GE Aviation Wales at Nantgarw is one of the most important employers in South Wales. It is one of our anchor companies. The Government must ‘step up to the plate’ immediately and save these highly skilled jobs. If Italy, Germany and France can support their aviation industries, then we should do the same. The furlough scheme must be extended so that these jobs can be saved”.
