Wayne David, MP for Caerphilly, joined Cefn Hengoed Ladies Choir in a concert to celebrate the Choir’s 65th anniversary.
The concert, which was sold out, was held in Lewis Girls’ School.
The Choir sang a number of varied songs but the main work on the programme was Vivaldi’s Gloria. Wayne David played the oboe solo in one of the arias.
Wayne David said, “This was an excellent concert. Cefn Hengoed Ladies Choir is a great choir and they performed with gusto and enthusiasm. It was a great privilege to perform with them”.
As part of their year of celebrations, the Choir has been invited to perform in the State Rooms of the Speaker of the House of Commons. This will be on Tuesday 30 October and the visit is being sponsored by local pharmaceutical company Norgine who are based in Hengoed.
