Wayne David, MP for Caerphilly, has been speaking at the Caerphilly Youth Forum at Ty Penallta, in Ystrad Mynach. Also speaking were other local politicians.
Wayne David and the other panellists answered a wide variety of questions, ranging from domestic abuse and mental health to economic regeneration and improving the relationship young people have with the police.
When he was speaking to the young people Wayne David said, “Young people are our future. That is why the views of young people need to be taken into account at all levels of decision making. I strongly support votes for 16 and 17 year olds and I hope that this will be introduced after the general election.
“Young people are interested in their local community and the future of the country like other members of society. All politicians ought to recognise this”.
