Wayne David, Labour MP for Caerphilly, has welcomed the announcement that on 25 June 2016 the South Wales Armed Forces Day celebrations will be coming to Caerphilly.
Until now the annual event has been held in Cardiff, but in 2016 it will come to Caerphilly town. There will be a parade through the streets of Caerphilly town centre, before a Drum Head Service against the backdrop of Caerphilly Castle and a Family Fun Day in the Owain Glyndwr Playing Fields.
Wayne David said, “I am delighted that over 600 service personnel will parade through Caerphilly town. I have absolutely no doubt that they will receive a great welcome from the people of Caerphilly. Throughout the County Borough there is always good support for our armed forces servicemen and women and I am sure this event will be a huge success”.
