Wayne David, Labour MP for Caerphilly, has paid tribute to the work of Caerphilly County Citizens Advice Bureau, as new figures show the charity has helped over 15,000 people in the Caerphilly constituency during the last year.
The figures from Citizens Advice show that over the last year 15,170 people from the Caerphilly constituency received advice from the Bureau. The most common problems people seeking advice were related to their benefits or tax credits, or about debt.
New evidence from the charity has also revealed that 78% of people nationally said that they would not have been able to solve their problem without the help they received from their local Citizens Advice service.
In response to the figures Wayne David said, “I am pleased to congratulate the Caerphilly County Citizens Advice Bureau. The fact that over 15,000 people in the Caerphilly constituency have received help from Citizens Advice shows how important they are as a front line service in supporting people. My constituency office works closely with Citizens Advice and I know how valuable their work is.”
