Wayne David, Labour MP for Caerphilly Working hard for the people of the Caerphilly constituency

Wayne David, MP for Caerphilly, has given his full support to the Volunteer Committee who are working to ‘breathe new life’ into the Caerphilly Workmen’s Hall.
Mr David paid a visit to the Hall and saw at first hand the excellent work that is underway. The Hall has recently received a grant from ‘Awards for All’, but much more is needed to restore the Grade II listed building to its former glory.
Despite the current limitations, the Hall is being widely used for a range of community events and activities. The Hall is mentioned in Caerphilly County Borough Council’s ‘Caerphilly Basin Masterplan’ and there is clearly a need in the community for a building like the Miners’ Hall.
After his visit, Mr David said, “This is a wonderful building and credit must be given to the excellent group of volunteers who are working so hard to improve the building and increase its use. I have given my full support to the Hall Committee and I will do whatever I can to help to take the Hall forward.”
