Wayne David MP has commended a commitment given by Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Trading Standards and Gwent Police to tackle the issue of underage drinking and anti-social behaviour in Ystrad Mynach.
Commenting on the initiative, Wayne David said, “I welcome this move to address what has been a long-standing concern in Ystrad Mynach. I have held meetings with Gwent Police over this issue and last month, along with Hefin David AM, accompanied PC Craig Ellis on his beat in Ystrad Mynach.”
He added, “It is clear that alcohol is a factor in this matter and the extent of underage drinking identified is of concern. I applaud the Council and Gwent Police for their recognition that this problem could get worse during the school holiday period, and their commitment to tackle the problem.”
