Wayne David, Labour MP for Caerphilly, and Caerphilly Constituency Labour Party (CLP) have both nominated, and are supporting, Keir Starmer to be the next leader of the Labour Party.

As a member of the Parliamentary Labour Party, Wayne David has personally nominated Keir Starmer, and Caerphilly CLP, at a special members’ meeting, has also given its overwhelming support to Keir.

Wayne David said, “I am very pleased that the Caerphilly Labour Party is strongly behind Keir Starmer. We are lucky in having such a strong field of able candidates, but the clear feeling is that Keir Starmer has the vision, the principles, the knowledge and the ability to connect with people in an effective way.

“We all very much hope that with Caerphilly CLP’s backing, Keir Starmer will go on to be an effective leader of the Labour Party and, if we convince the people that Labour is worthy of their support, Keir Starmer will be a brilliant Prime Minister.”
