Wayne David, the Labour Member of Parliament for Caerphilly, visited the Caerphilly Crossways Tesco this week to see the Trussell Trust’s Winter Food-bank Collection in full swing.

Mr David met with several volunteers at the food bank collection who are encouraging shoppers to donate long-life food at the front of the supermarket.

The food collected will go to the Trussell Trust and FareShare, who provide much-needed support to ordinary people year-round. This is, however, especially important in the current cost-of-living crisis. The significant work done by volunteers and staff members will help these charities during the challenging winter months.

Wayne David MP said “The work undertaken by the Trussell Trust and FareShare, in partnership with Tesco, is invaluable. It was excellent to meet with volunteers from the charities, as well as store manager Jamie, who are encouraging shoppers to give what they can to help make a difference locally”.
