Wayne David, Labour MP for Caerphilly Working hard for the people of the Caerphilly constituency
Wayne David, Labour MP for Caerphilly, has called the Budget “a lot of hot air”. Mr David said that the Budget is clearly “the last desperate act of a party that has failed”.
The country is in recession and although the Chancellor has announced a few measures that will reduce the tax burden on ordinary people, nevertheless taxes remain at a 70-year high. Mortgages are soaring, productivity is not improving, and housebuilding is not meeting demand at a time when homelessness is increasing.
Wayne David said, “If Rishi Sunak takes £10 from your wallet and then gives you £5 back, are you better off? The people of the Caerphilly constituency should see the Chancellor’s statement for what it is. A lot of hot air”
